During the recent Western Province Handball Festival, our U19 Boys and Girls teams took to the court wearing new jerseys donated by TV Oeffingen Handball Förderverein in Germany. The donation arrived in Cape Town just two days before the tournament and were used immediately during the festival.
For the players, wearing the new kit was an important moment. It allowed them to represent Bo-Kaap Handball Club in a unified and professional way at a major regional event, while also highlighting a connection that extends beyond South Africa.
Both teams competed over the course of the weekend and delivered committed performances. The U19 Boys recorded two wins against Cape Stars (26:25) and Soneike (25:17), while the U19 Girls secured a 15:11 victory against Soneike. The matches provided valuable competitive experience and an opportunity to apply what the teams have been working on in training.

The jersey donation was made possible through the personal and sporting connections of the club’s founder, who originates from the Oeffingen area. These existing relationships helped create a link between two handball communities and resulted in practical support for youth development in Bo-Kaap.
Beyond their immediate use in competition, the jerseys represent more than equipment. They reflect shared values around teamwork, commitment, and providing opportunities for young people to participate in sport in a structured and supportive environment.

We thank TV Oeffingen Handball Förderverein for their support and trust in our work. Contributions like this help ensure that our youth teams can continue to participate in regional competitions and remain connected to the wider handball community.
